Is this actually cheaper than hiring a freelance editor?
For most clients, meaningfully. A capable freelance editor in 2026 runs $30–$80 per hour, plus your time managing them, plus the inconsistency between projects. A short-form video on Editing Machine costs a few credits and arrives in 24 hours, on-brand, with revisions included. The bigger your output, the wider the gap.
Are there any hidden fees? What if a project costs more credits than expected?
No hidden fees. Every project shows its credit cost upfront before you confirm — including any complexity adjustments. You only spend what you approve.
What if I'm not happy with a video — can I get a refund?
Credits aren't refundable, but every project includes two free revision rounds — enough to refine the small stuff or rework the big stuff. Additional rounds use credits if you need to keep iterating. The one exception is the Starter pack: it comes with a first-project money-back guarantee (see below).
Do unused credits expire?
Not right away — your unused monthly credits roll over for a full 60 days from when they're issued, giving you two extra months to put them to work. Starter pack credits get the same 60-day window.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades and cancellations apply at the end of your current billing cycle. No contracts, no minimums.
What if we need more than the Scale plan offers?
You've got two options. If you burn through your monthly credits early, you can simply reset your subscription ahead of schedule — a fresh set of credits is issued right away and your billing cycle restarts from that day. Or, for consistently high-volume needs, contact us and we'll build a custom plan with the credit allowance, storage, and pricing that fits your operation.
Should I start with the Starter pack or a subscription?
If you just want to see how the platform works, the one-time $97 Starter pack is the logical first step — 30 credits and 60 days of access with zero commitment. Once you're producing content regularly, subscriptions offer a much better per-credit price plus continuous access, higher storage limits, more brand profiles, and priority API performance.
How does the Starter pack money-back guarantee work?
If you're not happy with your first delivered project after using your included revision rounds, contact us and we'll refund the full $97 — no hoops. The guarantee applies to your first Starter pack purchase only, and a refund ends platform access and any remaining credits. It exists so trying Editing Machine is genuinely risk-free.
